A proposal describing the project has been prepared by Battelle on December the 1st 2005. This proposal has been accepted and signed by Vestergaard Frandsen A/S on December the 12the 2005, allowing Battelle to conduct the work.”

“Observing the current water situation and handling of the people in rural Ghana supplies ‘background information’ about how people are used to handling water and what their average water situation is. It is also useful for looking into where LifeStraw® could play a role, and with which water sources LifeStraw® has to cope with or compete against. On a larger scale, this part of the research can be useful when designing water purification equipment or water supply equipment in general.”
